Love Me Not

An award-winning Anti-Stalking Campaign that was developed for the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office in conjunction with Peace Over Violence, Love Me Not is a public service campaign that puts actionable information and tools in the hands of stalking victims. Stalking is an under-reported, dangerous crime and when victims resort to having a restraining order in place, it many times accelerates the behavior – and at times, with violent outcomes. The agency created the name of the campaign and used a seemingly innocuous ‘happy face’ as the program’s iconic graphic, as both sexes are victims and perpetrators, and the behavior is many times couched as simply being overly attentive. The tools and information on the website allow the District Attorney’s Office to immediately step in and prosecute the stalker, with Peace Over Violence providing counseling and resources to the victim. The website launch was supported by an extensive public relations campaign, plus a print and outdoor advertising campaign strategically placed in and around college and university campuses. The campaign and resources it provides has proven to be highly successful regionally, and has expanded into various cities around the country and even overseas.
