NIKE
The Western European division of Nike hosts an annual sales meeting and conference that was held most recently in Las Vegas. As part of their team building strategy, the heads of Nike in each of the regions participated in a Dance competition, with sales executives in each country rooting for its leader to win. While the final dance competition was held in front of the hundreds of attendees, the agency was brought in ahead of time to create a series of back-story film shorts highlighting each executive’s arrival to Los Angeles; the initial meeting between the Nike executives and their professional dance partners; and a series of outtakes from their three full days of dance rehearsals. The agency staged, shot, produced and edited the six executive films, plus the airport arrivals and meet-and-greet dinner. Despite surprising them as they disembarked from their international flights, the Nike executives couldn’t have been better sports or more gracious during the entire process. In order to capture the arrivals from six different countries and the dance footage from two different studios, the agency deployed multiple film crews working at various locations to minimize time and inconvenience to all involved. The final film shorts were extremely well-received at the event. They set a professional tone for the final competition and while humorous, retained the dignity of each participant. There was plenty of laughter and applause throughout, and it was deigned to be a great success for the event planning team and the senior Nike executives.
